Room Tour: Kinzie Hotel, Chicago IL.

Updated: Dec 13, 2020

Located in Chicago’s River North District, the Kinzie hotel boasts elegance with its boutique style and urban charm. Opening its doors in 2004, the Kenzie hotel occupies the first six floors of the 17-story Dearborn Plaza. Named after John Kinzie known for being Chicago’s first Civilian.

During our time in Chicago, we stayed in the Deluxe Corner King sweet with a beautiful view onto River North. The spacious room was made even bigger with large bay windows covering what most hotels would leave as a blank wall. Covering the back wall was a large map of Chicago. These small details make the world of difference when compared to any generic hotel chain.

The staff was excellent from the front desk staff to be housekeeping. Because of Covid-19, the housekeeping was an ordered service guest had to preorder the day before. Luckily for us, we didn’t mind cleaning up after ourselves.

Usually serving a continental breakfast, the Kinzie Hotel served each guest a packed breakfast to go to avoid large gatherings. Being offered a sacked breakfast was a unique experience, but covid-19 has changed what used to be normal in every industry.

All in all, our stay at the Kinzie Hotel met our expectations and then some. In a world with increasing interest in personalized bed and breakfasts, this hotel stay gave us hope

That hotel industry can outlast the pandemic.
